Conferences 2015

Welcome to Parent/Teacher Conferences 2015!  What a great start we have had to the school year so far.  The students are settling in, as am I.  It seems like this first quarter flew by, but we were able to get a ton accomplished in all of my classes.  Check out some of the things that we have done:

English 12
Read Beowulf and created our own super heroes
Read several of The Canterbury Tales and wrote an essay comparing the stories we read
Created resumés

English 10
Read Night by Elie Weisel
Watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas
Wrote an essay comparing the two works
Read multiple short stories

Advanced Comp
WROTE. A TON.
Students have written nearly 5,000 words in blog posts
They have written nearly 7,000 words in essays.

I also have had a very exciting beginning of the school year outside of the classroom.  Harrison Craig Burman was born on September 24th.  He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and was 20 inches long.  So far he's been a great baby and a tremendous blessing to our family!  Thank you everyone for all the well wishes!
