Welcome back to English class! I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing, and fun break. I am excited about everything we will be working on to start the second semester. English 11 will be jumping back into the literature book and studying gothic literature, Transcendentalism, and poetry to begin the semester. English 12 will begin the poetry unit. Composition begins their online dual credit class through IPFW on January 12th.
I will be making a major change to the late policy in my classroom beginning with the start of the second semester. Effective immediately, late work will be assessed a 20% penalty up to one week after the assigned due date. After one week, the penalty will be increased to 50%. After three weeks, late work will longer be accepted and zeroes will remain in the gradebook for the remainder of the quarter. Contact Mr. Burman if you have any questions.
