It is so hard to believe that we have already reached the end of the first semester. And what a semester it has been in room 122! Here is just a small list of the things that the students in English 12, English 11, and Advanced Composition have done this semester:
- Read 3 novels
- Read 1 play
- Read multiple short stories and excerpts
- Written over 200,000 words in essays
- Had class discussions over literature and things happening in the real world
- Done multiple projects including creating their own hero, writing rap music, creating and analyzing poetry, and writing their own children's book
There are many other activities that aren't listed. The students have been very productive and have shown a great deal of intelligence and creativity over the course of the semester. It has been a pleasure to have all of my classes. The students did a great job of adjusting to all of the new changes at the beginning of the year and have done a great job integrating the Chromebooks into their classroom routine, and even teaching me and their classmates new tricks! The start of the new semester will bring many new, exciting things. It will be Spring Break before we know it, but until then I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a restful and relaxing Christmas break.
